Tips on Making Potato Salad

"The season for picnics and outdoor dining has arrived in most of the country. These meals won't be complete without potato salad."

Whenever we need potato salad we usually just call my mother in law.

Because she makes some killer potato salad.

It's not a loaf like this awesome ad above but it certainly completes any meal.

Here are the tips that our Almanac suggests:

1. Use potatoes that have thin skins.

Boil them in their "jackets" and then skin the potatoes.

Slice or dice into a bowl.

2. Prepare a marinade.

Equal parts olive oil and cooking oil. 1 part vinegar.

3. Include chopped parsley, dill, chives, and/or onion.

Mix everything together an pour over the potatoes then gently mix in.

I'm really not sure why mayonnaise isn't anywhere here.

Mayo is the glue that holds your potato salad together!

What I want to know is how to make this potato salad loaf!

Lucky for us I found an awesome YouTuber who recreated this recipe and it is just as amazing as you would imagine.

Making it Modern is a channel that takes vintage recipes and recreates them.

This is the premise of one of my favorite movies The Holiday In this 2006 movie, our main characters go onto a website called HomeExchange.com. They decide they want away from their tormented lives on Christmas so they vacation in each others homes for the Christmas Holiday. It's an adorable movie that ends all cuddly and romantically. Our Almanac suggests that if you wish to try this out you should join the Vacation Exchange Club! In the 1970's, this was a directory of people who were all part of this home exchange club. It featured homes around the world so you could swap homes with people from different backgrounds. Try Putting Up Wallboard? Why Not? "In the spring one tends to think about the sprucing up the home." In the 70's wood paneling was all the rage. Wallboard or as it commonly called today - Decorative Paneling. There are some seriously cute panelings out there today. Typically, when you think of wall paneling, you think of wooden paneling. I have some in my living room and it is very dated. It's so dark that is great for movie nights but mostly it just feels like a room that is sucking the light from your house. I found an article from Houzz that has some modern looks for us in the year 2018. So if you decide to go the way of decorative paneling, please steer clear of the basic stuff, and go for a nice chic modern look!

Stuffed Lamb Cushion for Easter "Lamb is a traditional food for Eater. The lamb is a symbol of Jesus. In John 1:29 Jesus is referred to as "The Lamb of God", who takes away the sin of the world." Lamb is also a traditional Passover meal. In the book of Exodus, God was determined to save His people from their captivity in Egypt. The last plague He sent to Egypt was the death of the firstborn. God commanded that His people take an unblemished lamb, kill it, and but the blood of the lamb on their door post. This would be a sign for the Angel of Death to "passover" the house and not strike their firstborn. It would be after their freedom from slavery that God would institute traditional sacrifice for sins that would involve a lamb. Jesus' last supper was the Passover meal.
