An Old Rule for Choosing Lubricants and Polishes
An Old English saying is "Use animal on animal, vegetable on vegetable, and mineral on mineral"

But then again I have never been this type of homemaker or home up-keeper.
I have Pledge for dusting and even dusting is a big unmentionable in our home.
Because I don't dust and don't you dare mention it.
But here is where they expand.
Don't put a mineral oil on wood (vegetable) or leather (animal).
OK!
This I can make sense of.
But when we talk about 1970's oils and greasers I think of

To achieve this characteristic of a "greaser" one would have to use Pomade or Petroleum Jelly.
Now Pomade in the 18th century was made primarily from Bear Fat
So
